9 smallest countries you may never know existed

There are over 200 countries around the globe. There are also territories and states that we didn’t know existed. They are small and inhabited only by a few families.

Here are the top ten tiny countries with populations smaller than a medium-sized or small city.

#1. Palau

The Republic of Palau, an island nation, consists of over 300 islands of different sizes. Palau is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. And it covers 459 square kilometers, and it has a population of 21 347 people. The island’s rain forests are home to unique birds and plants, and 130 shark species are found in its territorial waters. The lake with over 2 million jellyfish is the best sight in the country.

#2. Niue

Niue, an island in Oceania, is tiny. Despite its stunning views, tourism is not very popular in Niue. The country is dependent heavily on foreign aid, mainly from New Zealand. The capital is a tiny village of fewer than 600 inhabitants. The island is home to the only real supermarket in the state and has its airport.
